Go HERE for a listen. All tunes rough and readily recorded in the practice studio, but high fidelity recordings will be done and dusted soon.

The Minstrel
Tightly packed in straw and feathers, this record was delivered to High 45s offices on a foggy Mersey night by a bespectacled gent on horseback. Little information has surfaced about the mercurial stranger who made this music. Known only as 'The Minstrel', attempts to discover his origins or even his real name have proved as fruitless as Jesus's fig tree. We are fortunate that this small selection of his music has been preserved for your enjoyment, digitised from the original shellac compounds.
From medieval ballads to fairytales, to turn-of-the-century seaside musichall to more brutal chanson, 'The Minstrel' has it all. Download it HERE.

I Asked For Strawberry But She Bought Raspberry By Accident
Absent for years as competent musicians were steadily replaced by robots, melodies tuned into government conspiracies, and the few remaining bands incapacitated by excessive backstage Peruvian, 2010 brings the return of the overblown supergroup. Evict yer Emerson Lake & Palmers, cross off Crosby Stills and Nash, finish your Humble Pie and turn off the Travelling Wilburys, because there's a new collective in town.
May we present to you their first noises? Recorded deep into Friday night on a 1970s National Panasonic tape recorder, this bootleg contains a couple of Paul Baker classics and a whole lot of freshly preserved jam.

Oh, and speaking of supergroups, was anybody else as disappointed with Monsters Of Folk as I was? Still, hopefully some good M. Ward related stuff on the way, see here.

Iscariot's Chariot - Ambulance Man
New version of a very old song. Simon played some excellent mandolin on this one.
Look out for this track and more on the forthcoming Iscariot's Chariot EP on High 45s Records.

Welcome To High 45s
Greetings Earthlings, Martians and Millwall fans.
Welcome to the High 45s records blog. Here you will find all manner of weird and wunderbar muzik to amuse your ears. Stay tuned for new releases by The Tripping Forecast, Iscariot's Chariot, The Wild Eyes and maybe even the mighty Juju Spider if I can locate where they've eight-legged off to.
This week, High 45s have been listening to:
the remastered 2009 issue of Autobahn by Kraftwerk. crystal clear and quite fantastic.
a compilation of Dylan covers that veers from the sublime (Rod The Mod's take on Mama You Been On My Mind, Yo La Tengo's Fourth Time Around) to the ridiculous (German language rock version of Quinn The Eskimo, schlock-jazz Walkin' Down The Line).
the xx. Wanted to hate them because of the hype, but was confounded when they turned out to be worth almost every hyperbole written about them.
and the new Iscariot's Chariot number, Five Steps To Midnight.
Next up, HI45002, Flood Your Mind EP by The Tripping Forecast
